Welcome to the Education Futures Studio!

At EFS, we’re working collaboratively to shape education through learning, experimentation, and the democratization of contemporary governance technologies. Our interdisciplinary work spans the humanities, social sciences, law and computer sciences, exploring the intersections of education, emerging technologies like AI, policy, learning, and research.

Here’s how we do it:

  1. Innovative Research: We conduct cutting-edge research, both in Australia and internationally, to understand how AI and EdTech are transforming education policy and implementation. We’re reimagining human-machine interactions and their implications for education governance. [Explore our Projects and Learning tabs]
  2. Participatory Approaches: We develop participatory methods rooted in collective learning and experimentation. We work with educators, leaders, policymakers, students, and parents to build new ways to understand and evaluate how, and if, to use AI and EdTech. We also aim to collaborate with the EdTech industry to align their innovations with the needs of education stakeholders. [Check out our Experimenting, Learning, and Toolkit tabs]
  3. Policy Tools and Advice: Through collaborative and commissioned work, we generate policy recommendations to guide the use of AI and EdTech towards more equitable education futures. Our global policy tool allows users to explore AI governance policies worldwide. [Visit our Governing and Policymaking tabs]

Join us at EFS as we shape the future of education together.
